Cheyenne Lee (b. 2001) is a interdisciplinary artist based in Detroit. Her work explores the psychological and bodily impact of environments—how the spaces we inhabit shape and transform us. Pulling from Mid-century modern aesthetics like color, materiality, and shape, she investigates the relationship between the physical body and its surroundings. Reflecting on themes of memory, absence, and transformation. Cheyenne’s practice is expanded into three-dimensional work, integrating wood, textiles, and acrylic—mostly found and repurposed materials, creating familiar, and delicate environments. By activating our senses through texture, form, and color, she invites deeper engagement, exploring how space can hold or challenge us. Drawing from personal and collective family histories, she often considers these ideas through the lens of girlhood and womanhood, using a language of abstraction to navigate themes of absence and resilience. @__cheyennelee__
