The Ethereum mainnet turns 10 years old on July 30th. But did you know that the Copenhagen Ethereum Meetup Group is older than the Ethereum mainnet? The first-ever Copenhagen Ethereum Meetup happened on July 14th, 2015. To celebrate this milestone and nearly 10 years of mainnet, we have booked a great venue that will set the stage for an evening of excellent talks and even better company. The concrete agenda will be shared at a later point in time, but for now, make sure to mark the date in your calendars. We will start at 18:30 and do around two hours of talks/discussions, and afterwards we have the venue for the entire evening, so we hope you'll hang around with us for a couple of drinks and good conversations.

The Ethereum Mainnet merged with the Beacon Chain proof-of-stake network on September 15, 2022. This marks the end of proof-of-work for Ethereum and a full transition to proof-of-stake. This historic upgrade is projected to reduce the Ethereum network's energy consumption by over 99% and sets the stage for future upgrades to further scale the Ethereum network. Holders of this POAP were there to witness the Ethereum Mainnet Merge with the rest of the community and signaled their support to the core developers of this enormous undertaking by sending roughly $10 of ETH to the Protocol DAO, directly funding protocol contributors. The James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) is a space telescope being jointly developed by NASA, the European Space Agency (ESA), and the Canadian Space Agency (CSA). It is planned to succeed the Hubble Space Telescope as NASA's flagship astrophysics mission.[6][7] JWST is scheduled to be launched no earlier than Friday 24 December 2021 during Ariane flight VA256. It will provide improved infrared resolution and sensitivity over Hubble, and will enable a broad range of investigations across the fields of astronomy and cosmology, including observing some of the most distant events and objects in the universe, such as the formation of the first galaxies, and detailed atmospheric characterization of potentially habitable exoplanets.

With the impending mainnet launch for Rocket Pool, the EthStaker crew is hosting a livestream on the basics of the security model of being a Rocketpool node operator. We'll start with a short description of the attack surfaces, and progress to a walkthrough of setting up a VPS server as a staking machine with the most essential security precautions. The tutorial will use a macbook client with a Ubuntu server hosted at a VPS provider. 'Mentor' will be presenting during this livestream as he wrote most of the security documentation for Rocket Pool.
