This POAP will be issued to anyone who was operating their own Ethereum staking node, either as a solo staker or as a Rocket Pool node operator, as of the time of the merge. The first use of this POAP will be to vote on an art style for a non-transferrable NFT which will be issued to node operators. This POAP is for all the node operators that jumped into the Smoothing Pool within 24 hours after launch. The Smoothing Pool allows Rocket Pool node operators to share block rewards for a more constant income.

On Wednesday, October 27th the first Ethereum Beacon Chain Network Upgrade will happen. Altair is scheduled to go live at epoch 74240 – Oct 27, 2021, 10:56:23am UTC. See the Altair Mainnet Announcement for details on who, how, and why. If you run a validator on the beacon chain, you must upgrade before the Altair upgrade epoch or else you will experience downtime penalties. It’s great practice to share updates with your fellow solo stakers. When you update your node, did you share the news with your validator friends? Did you tweet about it, if so – you deserve a POAP.

Rocket Pool is hitting mainnet on October 6th after 4 years of development time!
