The address which minted this POAP participated in the KZG Summoning Ceremony: a publicly coordinated ritual to produce a random output. This output will be used in Proto-Danksharding, aka EIP 4844: an Ethereum scaling mechanism which will hopefully enable lower Layer 2 fees and greater global accessibility. EIP-4844 is expected to go live with the Dencun network upgrade in the near future. As of the time of writing, this ceremony was the largest setup of this kind when considering the number of contributions.

The Ethereum Mainnet merged with the Beacon Chain proof-of-stake network on September 15, 2022. This marks the end of proof-of-work for Ethereum and a full transition to proof-of-stake. This historic upgrade is projected to reduce the Ethereum network's energy consumption by over 99% and sets the stage for future upgrades to further scale the Ethereum network. A POAP to commemorate the r/Ethtrader Governance Poll titled "Pay to Post for Donut Registered Users." First proposed in the r/Ethtrader subreddit by u/kohrts. This custom POAP will de delivered by Snapshot to those who participate in DAO governance by voting! PROPOSAL SUMMARY: This proposal addresses the increased amount of post spamming on r/Ethtrader by proposing a fee to post for users who are registered to receive Donut distributions. This fee would disincentivize spammers by causing them to sacrifice a large portion of any rewards they earn without putting undue burden on normal and productive sub members.

The Ropsten Testnet successfully merged the Execution and Consensus clients on June 8, 2022. This initial public testnet merge is an important technical milestone for the Ethereum network that paves the way for other testnets and the Mainnet merge.
