This POAP is for people who sign up to be Supporting Members of the Weekly Thing during the initial soft launch of the membership program. These early explorers are helping test the program out and make sure it is ready as we prepare for the member drive to raise funds for great non-profits!

This is a special token to commemorate the Seven Year Anniversary of the Weekly Thing by Jamie Thingelstad, established in 2017. This token is for subscribers of the Weekly Thing as of May 13th, 2024 and was distributed directly via claim codes in Weekly Thing 288. The art for this POAP was created by Daniel Sheldon (danielsheldon.eth) who I discovered via NiftyInk. Daniel found inspiration in the content of the Weekly Thing including travel, art, crypto, markets, theater, and tech. There is a peeled lemon as a memento mori, a reminder of impermanence. The quill represents knowledge and the sharing thereof. The layers that make up the background are made of photos of major tech hub cities like Tokyo and New York with filters and effects and an overlay in the shape of The Son of Man by Magritte, which was meant to be a silhouette and more about outward looking but also self-reflection. Six years ago in a galaxy far, far away, ENS was launched. Holders of this POAP have an avatar and their primary name set on an ENS name at the time of the 6th anniversary of the Ethereum Name Service.

This POAP was given to all attendees of Minnebar 17. First held in 2006, Minnebar is the nation's largest and longest-running technology unconference. Like other unconferences (or BarCamps), Minnebar is a user-generated conference that is participant-led. There are no keynote speakers or formal workshops, and all sessions are led by people from the tech and business communities. Minnebar 17 was held at Best Buy's Corporate Headquarters on Saturday, April 22nd 2023. This POAP was distributed directly via claim code when attendees checked in for the event.
