One year ago today the POOL token was distributed decentralizing control of PoolTogether! In one of the most community centric distributions ever, 15% of all POOL tokens were given to all depositors on day 1. Since then community ownership has only increased. Rocket Pool hit a major milestone when the number of node operators reached 2000. This event is considered a huge success for the protocol and demonstrates its ability to maintain growth over time. The community celebrated this achievement as a sign of the protocol's strength and potential for future success. Community members, ramana and waqwaqattack were able to form a shrimp marriage to officially create the 2,000th node. On December 2, 2022, the Coinbase Assets twitter account announced that they had added the Rocket Pool token (RPL) to their roadmap. A linked blog post indicated that RPL along with three other Ethereum ERC20 tokens were planned for listing on Coinbase at some point in the future.
