After 2 years since the last Devcon in Japan, Ethereum's flagship annual event is finally back in Bogotá! Akin to a global family reunion, Devcon is a conference for builders of all kinds: developers, designers, researchers, client implementers, test engineers, infrastructure operators, community organizers, social economists, artists, and more. Not everyone will have the opportunity to fly 19,000 Kilometers all the way to Bogotá, and that's why we are bringing Devcon to Malaysia as part of Devcon Satellites! We will be having our community members to share their experience as Devcon attendees and also as an Ethereum Foundation's scholar! We then will go through together on curated topics highlighted during Devcon to keep us up to date with Ethereum's latest development.

We continue our IRL meetups in September with a guest who's been calling KL home for the past year! Samrat will walk us through the innovation in secure multiparty coordination that is the Baseline Protocol. Many multi-party workflows still rely on manual point-to-point interactions, which are prone to inconsistencies and broken agreements racking up costly reconciliation and repudiation efforts to resolve. Companies would like to share their data, but know that keeping data localized is a more sound investment as compliance requirements often make data sharing undesirable. Zero Knowledge technology allows all parties in a networked business process to maintain their own systems-of-record in a verified state of consistency. As before, we are organising this meetup with the help of AWS Malaysia, who have kindly sponsored their office as its venue. This is not a drill - we are having our first IRL monthly meetup at Common Ground Bandar Utama after 2.5 years of Zoom calls! We will be hosting a panel session with the three most well known crypto companies in Malaysia: Etherscan, Luno & CoinGecko! It has been a rollercoaster ride in the first half of 2022. We will be hearing our speakers’ thoughts on the year so far and their outlook (alpha?) on the second half of 2022.

On Wednesday, October 27th the first Ethereum Beacon Chain Network Upgrade will happen. Altair is scheduled to go live at epoch 74240 – Oct 27, 2021, 10:56:23am UTC. See the Altair Mainnet Announcement for details on who, how, and why. If you run a validator on the beacon chain, you must upgrade before the Altair upgrade epoch or else you will experience downtime penalties. It’s great practice to share updates with your fellow solo stakers. When you update your node, did you share the news with your validator friends? Did you tweet about it, if so – you deserve a POAP.

On October 3rd, 2021 Langers from the Rocket Pool team published the full audit results (https://discordapp.com/channels/405159462932971535/405163979141545995/894372662795731003). With less than 48 hours before the Rocket Pool Ethereum Mainnet launch, there is nothing left to do. This is the clam before the storm. All systems nominal - we are go for launch. To celebrate this moment in time, the official "calm before the storm" POAP was distributed and the Rocket Pool Ethereum Mainnet Poster NFT was officially revealed.
