Bianca De Leo is a preclinical pharmacologist in reproductive health at Bayer AG and proudly involved in women’s health and women’s empowerment activities even outside her work. Since 2020 she acts as reproductive health consultant for Together Women Can non-profit organisations with projects in rural Kenya. She loves traveling and visited 30 countries and still counting! Together Women Can is a social intrapreneurship initiative at Boehringer Ingelheim and non-profit organisation with the mission to end cervical cancer in Kenya. With our partners we provided 3000 vulnerable women access to cervical cancer prevention and sexual health education in Uasin Gishu County in Kenya. We aim to scale our project to other counties in Kenya by combining access to healthcare and women economic empowerment to empower women to take charge of their own health. Lightup Impact is an online community of 90 early stage grassroots organisations fighting inequalities in health and gender in East Africa. We empower our members organisations to become sustainable and increase their impact through peer-to-peer support and networking, trust based partnerships with the social and business sector and skills development trainings.
