On Wednesday, October 27th the first Ethereum Beacon Chain Network Upgrade will happen. Altair is scheduled to go live at epoch 74240 – Oct 27, 2021, 10:56:23am UTC. See the Altair Mainnet Announcement for details on who, how, and why. If you run a validator on the beacon chain, you must upgrade before the Altair upgrade epoch or else you will experience downtime penalties. It’s great practice to share updates with your fellow solo stakers. When you update your node, did you share the news with your validator friends? Did you tweet about it, if so – you deserve a POAP.

On October 3rd, 2021 Langers from the Rocket Pool team published the full audit results (https://discordapp.com/channels/405159462932971535/405163979141545995/894372662795731003). With less than 48 hours before the Rocket Pool Ethereum Mainnet launch, there is nothing left to do. This is the clam before the storm. All systems nominal - we are go for launch. Rocket Pool released their final article announcing the Ethereum Mainnet Launch Date!

Joe Clapis (rocket pool senior blockchain engineer) will be going step-by-step building a new Raspberry Pi machine from fresh out of the box to a fully functional validator using the Rocket Pool platform.

On Friday, August 27th 2021 a chain split occurred on Ethereum mainnet. This is an issue affecting Geth on the Execution Layer (ETH1). Version 1.10.8 has been released to resolve the issue. If you are running Geth as your Execution Layer client, please update to the version 1.10.8. If you are using Infura or like-service there is no action necessary.

The highly anticipated block 12,965,000 has finally processed and ushered in EIP-1559. This POAP celebrates all of the hard work and dedication by the Ethereum Foundation and everyone involved to bring such a monumental upgrade to fruition.
