The Ethereum Mainnet merged with the Beacon Chain proof-of-stake network on September 15, 2022. This marks the end of proof-of-work for Ethereum and a full transition to proof-of-stake. This historic upgrade is projected to reduce the Ethereum network's energy consumption by over 99% and sets the stage for future upgrades to further scale the Ethereum network. Holders of this POAP were online with EthStaker during the Kiln testnet merge. The Kiln testnet is the first public testnet for the merge that will combine the Execution Layer from the existing Proof of Work chain with the Consensus Layer from the new beacon chain. The result will be a new chain (forged in the kiln) with a new Proof of Stake Consensus Layer and a powerful EVM Execution engine. This call occurred around 10am Eastern time on March 15, 2022, a day earlier than anticipated after GPU miners accelerated the PoW chain toward the merge.

The solution has been verified by Sigma Prime and we have upgraded our initial mainnet deployment of Rocket Pool smart contracts and also our smart node stack to bring it inline with these changes.
