Early in 2022, Tom Lehman and PIV founded Capsule 21, a platform where they explore experimental, derivative and on-chain art. In their project OC Marilyns PFP, they put CryptoPunks in the context of Pop Art. In essence it’s a 25K PFP collection generated by code from nothing more than CryptoPunk colors and one single CryptoPunk (3725).
