Marceau Returns To #trading

Last November, a heated disagreement among members of the Rocket Pool community created an atmosphere that was anything but conducive to discussion and analysis. Naturally, Marceau's famous BCOTD (Bullish Comment Of The Day), investment insights, and friendly small talk weren't making any appearances in chat - at least not until some prominent Rocket Poolers took it upon themselves to band together for one major mission: bring back their beloved "Marcy." On December 18th 2022 they succeeded – good old Marceau returned to his rightful place in #trading!

Terra Loses Its Peg

On the day of May 9th, 2022, the cryptocurrency markets were heading south and the stable coin UST was in trouble. Algorithmic stable coins are supposed to be stable by tracking the price of fiat currencies, however, on this day UST's price went as low at .60 - 40% below the peg.
On this day 8thwonder.eth decided he couldn't miss #trading and bought all the RPL he sold a few months prior back. A whopping $500k buy order triggered a lot of bots but most of all the degens in #trading that where active at the time. Eligible people where hand picked based on activity during the buy order, so that only true #trading people can mint this POAP.
The night of May 11, 2022 was an exciting time for Rocket Pool minipool operators - it was the monthly Rocket Pool rewards distribution, while hanging out in Rocket Pool #Trading, we were watching a ~20% across the board market drop as the Luna stable coin lost its peg and melted down. Holders of this POAP were in the room or closely related to the event in Rocket Pool.
