AWS car racing event @Bayer to learn and connect artificial intelligence enthusiasts. On June 21, 2023, Bayer will participate in an AWS-organized DeepRacer event. In 4 hours, teams will program small cars using machine learning algorithms to race in tracks and compete to win. From their website, it is a “cloud-based 3D racing simulator, fully autonomous 1/18th scale race car driven by reinforcement learning”. A fun way and excellent opportunity to get hands-on experience in machine learning. The main events will run in Berlin, São Paulo, and St. Louis, and many colleagues will participate remotely in the race from other cities not only in Germany, but also in Poland, Spain, and other countries. You can support the event with logistics or learn some machine learning and be a participant, or just be there to meet other AI / data scientists from other departments, since many colleagues from Marketing, R&D, IT, Product Supply, Controlling, Facility Management, and Site Security, are co-organizing or participating in this. Der Weihnachtsmann lauschte an der Tür dem Meeting. Er spürte die Begeisterung und Hoffnung aller und war begeistert von diesem Engagement. Als die Teilnehmenden den Besprechungsraum verließen, ging er hinterher. Am Fuß der Treppe stolperte die junge Frau und verletzte sich den Fuß. „Ich bringe dich zum Betriebsärztlichen Dienst“, sagte der junge Mann und stützte sie. „Kann ich helfen?“, bot der Weihnachtsmann an, und gemeinsam brachten sie die junge Frau zur Ärztin. „Vielleicht liegt es an Ihren Augen, dass Sie gestolpert sind. Es gibt eine Zauberspritze, die die Augen wieder heil macht“, sagte der Weihnachtsmann zu der verletzten jungen Frau und verabschiedete sich. „Frohe Weihnachten!“ Santa Claus listened to the meeting at the door. He sensed everyone's enthusiasm and hope and was excited by their commitment. When the participants left the meeting room, he went after them. At the foot of the stairs, the young woman tripped and hurt her foot. "I'll take you to Occupational Medicine & Health," the young man said, supporting her. "Can I help?" offered Santa, and together they took the young woman to the doctor. "Maybe your eyesight is weakening, that is why you tripped. There is a magic injection that will make your eyesight strong again," Santa said to the injured young woman and said goodbye. "Merry Christmas!"

Wie aufregend! Eine junge Frau und ein junger Mann wollten gleich zu einem Meeting bei LEAPS aufbrechen. Offenbar war das eine Abteilung, in der man große Herausforderungen anging, zum Beispiel Krebs zur heilen und vorzubeugen. Dabei arbeitete Bayer mit Unternehmen zusammen und unterstützte diese finanziell, aber auch durch aktive Beratung, Know-how-Austausch und Kollaborationsmöglichkeiten. Der Forschungserfolg ist risikoreich – aber wie die Weihnachtselfen in der Spielzeugentwicklungsabteilung immer sagen: Wer nichts wagt, der nicht gewinnt! Der Weihnachtsmann folgte den beiden jungen Leuten unauffällig mit großem Abstand. How exciting! A young woman and a young man were about to leave for a meeting at LEAPS. Apparently, this was a department that was tackling major challenges, such as curing and preventing cancer. Bayer was working with companies and supporting them financially, but also through active consulting, know-how exchange and collaboration opportunities. Research success is risky - but as the Christmas elves in the toy development department always say: Nothing ventured, nothing gained! Santa followed the two young people unobtrusively at a great distance.
