On August 8, 2023, an enigmatic newcomer by the username "elpresidank" made an extraordinary proposition: a commitment to match any user's RPL purchase, up to an impressive 600 ETH. This unexpected and intriguing offer set the Rocket Pool Discord community ablaze with excitement, as a cascade of buy orders commenced, spanning not only from community members but also from the Rocket Pool team themselves. This surge of activity was met with an equal measure of zeal from elpresidank's commitment to match these buy orders, creating an atmosphere of shared passion and unity. On July 17, 2023, a significant event took place within the Rocket Pool community as their Discord server was compromised. During this incident, a fraudulent airdrop was shared, leading to the banning of esteemed members from the server. However, in the face of adversity, the resilient Rocket Pool community united on a secondary server to confront and rectify the situation.
