On January 21, 2024 Nethermind validators suddenly went offline at block 257,913. Thanks to Nethermind being a minority client, network participation drop was only ~10% and the chain was unaffected! In the afternoon of January 9th of 2024, the SEC thought we weren't having enough fun so they tendered us an unbelievable series of events that made life feel like science fiction. Sergito.eth paged Arsonic.eth in the cryptopunks Telegram to make a POAP to celebrate and here we are :) This POAP will be an open edition available to mint for a couple days, and one lucky collector will be awarded a Sgt Pepe masterpiece, created by Arsonic in Late 2022.

You locked GLM into Octant, and you received ETH rewards in return from keeping your GLM locked. Because you donated some of those rewards to public goods, we want to thank you. We are extremely grateful for your generosity.

The address which minted this POAP participated in the KZG Summoning Ceremony: a publicly coordinated ritual to produce a random output. This output will be used in Proto-Danksharding, aka EIP 4844: an Ethereum scaling mechanism which will hopefully enable lower Layer 2 fees and greater global accessibility. EIP-4844 is expected to go live with the Dencun network upgrade in the near future. As of the time of writing, this ceremony was the largest setup of this kind when considering the number of contributions.
