AWARE the mindfulness community at Bayer. What is mindfulness? “Mindfulness means paying attention in a particular way; On purpose, in the present moment and nonjudgmentally.” This is the definition of mindfulness by the famous initiator of the program Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, John Kabat-Zinn (University of Massachusetts, founder of the Center for Mindfulness). The concept of mindfulness is illustrated in the bestseller “Search Inside Yourself” by Chade-Meng Tan. Moreover, it connects mindfulness to emotional intelligence and neuroscience. The author developed the Search Inside Yourself training to teach participants how to become more satisfied, creative and successful by applying mindfulness practices.
