We continue our IRL meetups in September with a guest who's been calling KL home for the past year! Samrat will walk us through the innovation in secure multiparty coordination that is the Baseline Protocol. Many multi-party workflows still rely on manual point-to-point interactions, which are prone to inconsistencies and broken agreements racking up costly reconciliation and repudiation efforts to resolve. Companies would like to share their data, but know that keeping data localized is a more sound investment as compliance requirements often make data sharing undesirable. Zero Knowledge technology allows all parties in a networked business process to maintain their own systems-of-record in a verified state of consistency. As before, we are organising this meetup with the help of AWS Malaysia, who have kindly sponsored their office as its venue. Since space is limited, please RSVP only if you are sure you can make it to the event.
This month, it will be all about the upcoming Merge. The merge of Ethereum's consensus & execution layers and change of consensus mechanism has been planned from the start of the protocol. With the last testnet, Goerli, planned to undergo its Merge in August and mainnet planned for September, we are super close to getting there. We will be conducting a round table to learn important concepts about post-Merge Ethereum as well as a hands-on workshop on running your own node. The meetup will be participatory! Everyone is welcome to share their insights in the round table (please make sure it's based on knowledge not BS) and should bring their laptops if they'd like to try running a node. Local legend (sorry for these hype-ish words ser) Caleb will be leading the workshop.
