This northern Italian Lago scene depicts, in Michelle’s own words, “A time for lunch," as several families seem to be gathering and joyfully sharing meals beneath the bright sunlight. Once again, she graces her canvas with European architecture, with additional specific detail to the tall trees, as well as the fence in the distance which conveys a remarkable depth of space. Here is another depiction of Hemingway’s green sailboat. This time it is docked, presumably waiting for boarding. The reflection of the surroundings renders an ominous and foreboding mood. Herein is depicted El Morro, the historical landmark in Cuba. Named after the three biblical magi as the “Castle of the Three Wise Men of the Rock" ("Morro Castle"), the fortress guards the entrance into Havana bay. The design was created by engineer Batista Antonelli and built in 1589. This mighty structure, symbolic of Cuba’s resilience, has endured oscillating historical moments of conquest, colonialism, dictatorship, and revolution for over 531 years. Michelle stated many times that her artwork will also last for over five hundred years. Michelle portrayed the precise detail of the stone blocks of the fort, which affix it sturdily onto the cliff. This POAP was acquired during the Michelle Trunzo Exhibition in September 2021. Of all the government buildings in the world, the one that Michelle admired most was the National Capitol Building of Cuba. To Michelle, it represented life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness in her beloved Cuba. As previously mentioned, her revolutionary efforts were focused on fighting for the right of all Cuban citizens to vote in free elections. The Capitol was commissioned by then Cuban president, Gerardo Machado, and was constructed from 1926 to 1928. Built by 5,000 workers, it was deliberately designed to be similar to the United States Capitol; however it is 3 feet taller, 3 feet wider, and 3 feet longer. De todos los edificios gubernamentales del mundo, el que más admiraba Michelle era el Capitolio Nacional de Cuba. Para Michelle, representaba la vida, la libertad y la búsqueda de la felicidad en su amada Cuba.
