Cubavera has also commissioned renowned Cuban fine artist, Tony Mendoza to create vibrant pop-art inspired by Cuban heritage and culture. London based Dubliner Louis Brennan is a singer-songwriter in the folk tradition. His folk however aren’t the field hands and travelling minstrels of yore but the repressed middle managers and ennui-ridden urbanites of late stage capitalism. They populate tales of bad sex, half-drunk commutes and interpersonal claustrophobia delivered in Brennan’s cracked baritone, at times embarrassingly intimate, at times spuriously broad, peppered with pitch-black humour. Brennan has performed in many guises on many stages and is known for a live show that takes the listener on a journey, turning the mirror from himself onto the audience, commanding dynamics as if conducting an orchestra not standing alone with an acoustic guitar.

Two compelling improvisers emerging from London’s jazz scene, James Kitchman (UK) & Sylvia Schmidt (DE) are an accomplished guitar-vocal duo. Originally drawn together by the richness and variety of the jazz tradition, they have recently explored more diverse sources of inspiration, including Anglo-American folk ballads of the Appalachian mountains. Their sound embraces the dynamic tension between forces of preservation and transformation, creating a space in which the haunting beauty of nostalgia and irresistibility of change intersect.

Hailing from Camden, Desta French is already making a lot of noise in the UK music industry thanks to her unique blend of future R&B and Latin! She released her debut single 'Shame', which accumulated over 1 million plays on Spotify and got extensive radio play in Colombia, where she was also interviewed by Julio Sanches Cristo, one of the most highly recognized journalists in Latin America. One of those talents that doesn’t come very often, she has the expertise and the swag to match it. In 2020 she released her latest video “Tabaco Y Ron,” a homage to the music that shaped her upbringing.
