The Ethereum Mainnet merged with the Beacon Chain proof-of-stake network on September 15, 2022. This marks the end of proof-of-work for Ethereum and a full transition to proof-of-stake. This historic upgrade is projected to reduce the Ethereum network's energy consumption by over 99% and sets the stage for future upgrades to further scale the Ethereum network. Holders of this POAP were there to witness the Ethereum Mainnet Merge with the rest of the community and signaled their support to the core developers of this enormous undertaking by sending roughly $10 of ETH to the Protocol DAO, directly funding protocol contributors. This POAP is meant to commemorate The Merge on the Ethereum protocol. We, the fine people of r/ethfinance, have been counting down the days to this historical event. Literally. Everyday u/Moschus11 has been posting a countdown to the estimated merge date and the fellow subredditors have been upvoting, downvoting, correcting, criticising, reviewing, validating his best guess. As a small token of appreciation to our little corner of the internet he would like to hand out this POAP to remember The Merge, but more so the countdown itself. Because, after all, the journey is the reward.

On 11/21/2021 Rocketpool Stage 4 went live, allowing for unlimited minipool creation. Rocketpool Discord trading noticed an address (now know as 0xAce) continually failing transactions to register a node and costing substantial costs in ETH. For approximately 70 minutes, the Discord rode an emotional rollercoaster of amusement, to pain and then panic as Rocketpool members tried to investigate who this user could be and protect him from losing all of the 18 ETH from his wallet. On October 3rd, 2021 Langers from the Rocket Pool team published the full audit results (https://discordapp.com/channels/405159462932971535/405163979141545995/894372662795731003). With less than 48 hours before the Rocket Pool Ethereum Mainnet launch, there is nothing left to do. This is the clam before the storm. All systems nominal - we are go for launch. To celebrate this moment in time, the official "calm before the storm" POAP was distributed and the Rocket Pool Ethereum Mainnet Poster NFT was officially revealed.
