The genesis block of the Beacon Chain was finalized on December 1, 2020. This moment laid the foundation for Ethereum's historic transition to Proof of Stake. The Beacon Chain ran in parallel with Mainnet for nearly two years before eventually taking over as the network's consensus engine during the Merge. Holders of this digital collectible participated in the five-year anniversary of the Beacon Chain. This digital collectible honors not only the Beacon Chain itself, but also the pioneer validators who participated in the Beacon Chain since its early days, even when the future of the network and the ability to eventually withdraw funds was uncertain.
