In Structured Light, I use projectors and LEDs to cast light in highly minimalist arrangements of form and color. By using light as a sculptural medium, I seek to deliver an experience that is quiet, still, and sublime. Artist Bio: Chris Clavio was born in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and received his BFA from the University of New Mexico. As a New Media Artist, his work explores the sublime using light and immersive environments. Structured Light is his first solo show after working full time for the art collective turned arts/entertainment behemoth Meow Wolf between 2015 and 2020. In his role there, Clavio managed the technology systems integration for all of the art in each of Meow Wolf’s exhibitions. He considers this experience instrumental in his development as an artist. His current projects engage light and space to challenge the swiftness of our frenzied culture, requiring us to slow down and be present with our senses and the spaces we inhabit. Clavio currently lives and works in Denver, Colorado.
