Of all the government buildings in the world, the one that Michelle admired most was the National Capitol Building of Cuba. To Michelle, it represented life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness in her beloved Cuba. As previously mentioned, her revolutionary efforts were focused on fighting for the right of all Cuban citizens to vote in free elections. The Capitol was commissioned by then Cuban president, Gerardo Machado, and was constructed from 1926 to 1928. Built by 5,000 workers, it was deliberately designed to be similar to the United States Capitol; however it is 3 feet taller, 3 feet wider, and 3 feet longer.
