Each time you take part in an event, POAP collectors get a unique digital collectible that is supported by a cryptographic record. These digital collectibles are Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) and open a whole new world of possibilities. An NFT is a unit of data stored on the blockchain; storing it on the blockchain certifies that the digital asset is unique and therefore not interchangeable. These tokens can be exchanged for other tokens, sold, or held by their owners as keepsakes or investments. POAPs are issued on a side chain that does not use an overwhelming amount of electricity to function. In this way, the environmental impact of POAP is significantly reduced.
