Cynefin' (pr. kuh-neh-vin) is the creative vision of West Wales native Owen Shiers. Fascinated by music and history, it is a bid to give a modern voice to Ceredigion’s rich yet neglected cultural heritage. Starting out from his home village of Capel Dewi in the Clettwr Valley and traveling through the local musical landscape, Owen has unearthed seasoned songs and stories, some never before recorded, and given them new life in the present. The result of three years research and work, his debut album ‘Dilyn Afon’ (Following A River) is distinct both in its concept and ambition. From talking animals and tragic train journeys – to the musings of star crossed lovers, farm workers and lonely vagabonds, the album provides a unique window into the past and to a vibrant oral culture of story and song - it moves, probes and reveals forgotten aspects of the tradition, whilst raising questions around our modern malaise of disconnection and rootlessness. DG Solaris is the project of musician Danny Green. Between 2008-2018, he released music under the name Laish, delivering four albums of wry, eccentric guitar pop. In 2020, he released his first as DG Solaris, a psychedelic pop album called, ‘Spirit Glow’. 2021 saw a host of new singles released and a new Youtube series of intimate live recordings and collaborations with musical friends called, 'Songs from the Blue Room'. Blending soulful melancholia with the controlled artistry of a classically trained singer, Hannah Nicholson gives voice to the light and dark of human emotion. Having previously performed as one half of the Manchester based psych-folk duo Bird to Beast, coupled with her extensive session work - including Maz (snarky puppy) and Ellie Goulding- she has now crafted her own individual musical identity: a blend of choral, electro and folk, stitched together with a thread that runs from J.S. Bach to Jane Weaver. Her first eponymously titled EP (produced by Jim Spencer at EVE studios and released in 2017) and her 2nd EP Hotel Elevators, set the the album to be released in the winter.
