Stadthuys – A red-painted colonial building and former Dutch administrative center, now housing historical museums. Allied with Johor, the Dutch East India Company captured Melaka in 1641. Malacca River – The city's birthplace; where Parameswara first settled and established the trading post. Founded around 1400 by Parameswara, a Srivijayan prince, Melaka began as a small fishing village. Its strategic location along the Strait of Malacca soon made it a pivotal maritime hub.
