Malacca Light - an inactive lighthouse commissioned during British rule in Malacca and was completed in 1849 as an additional beacon for ships travelling along the Strait of Malacca Under British rule, Melaka became part of the Straits Settlements alongside Penang and Singapore. It remained economically marginal but saw infrastructure development and educational reforms.
