The TRU Band Room presents: Mr. Swe 10:00 pm UTC | February 16th, 2022 Born in Brindisi, Italy, Francesco aka Mr. Swe developed a love for music at a very young age. His journey began while listening to his father's vinyl, cassettes, and cds. At the age of 12, Francesco got closer to the DJ world through friends of his parents–they helped him step up and put the first vinyl down of the night at a party. From there, his passion for music grew. His first interests in music were primarily in reggae, but soon after his love for hip-hop culture grew. Francesco later started MCing in dancehalls and underground parties with various artists and collectives such as, "Dancehall Terrorists Crew.” Around the same time, Francesco started to produce music from his small garage-based studio. His love for Hip-hop, dub, and experimental music, became the main production focus. Mr. Swe fuses his sound through different software and hardware, while maintaining a love for the world of sampling and experimental synths that hit the left-field bracket of imagination. The TRU Band Room presents: Coconut Sunday 4:00 pm UTC | February 6th, 2022 Coconut Sunday is an award-winning, nominated artist from Bangkok, Thailand. Their music style has generally been regarded as Synthpop, Dance-pop, Electropop: a blend of disco grooves, catchy melodies, dreamy synthesizers. In 2013, Coconut Sunday won Thailand’s biggest national music contest, Chang Music contest season 3. In 2014, Pa-Wung [Day Dream], the first single released in 2012, got the band attention from a group of Japanese music event organisers and took the band to perform at Live House’D Osaka Japan, which was their first opportunity to play abroad and thus inspired the start of writing and recording international songs. The band's debut album, “When the night seems so long,” was released in December 2017 and the band was nominated for the 29th Season Awards for a best new artist. A Season Magazine award is one of Thailand’s biggest and longest established music magazines. In Dec 2020, the band released a new single, “Run My Race”, a song about hope, taking chances and pursuing dreams to communicate with their fans to not lose hope and keep pursuing goals. This single was recommended by Joox Thailand.
