For the first time ever, we met in the Orion Growth virtual Coworking Space in Virbela Open Campus (OC) to launch the speaker series, Inspiring People, Inspiring Places, moderated by Dave Cairns and Chris Moeller. Hosted by Orion Growth and Virbela OC. We kicked things off with a BANG on March 7th @ 12:30pm EST with prolific guests, Stephen Shedletzky & Tracy Hawkins to get their take on proximity bias and the groundswell that is Speak Up Culture. This was not the same old wooden panel discussion, keynote or Zoom webinar. The virtual platform of Virbela allows us to quietly elevate issues such as ESG, DEI, and FoW without the magnification or polarized discussions regarding place and real estate. #futureofwork #education #IPIP

I saw the Art & Culture of Fright art exhibition in the Virbela gallery. There were spooky artworks from Paul Cézanne, Vincent van Gogh, Frida Kahlo, Edvard Munch, Odilon Redon, John Henry Fuseli, Utagawa Kuniyoshi, Francisco Goya and Joos van Craesbeeck. I learned more about them thanks to Google Arts & Culture. There were bold, frightening masks made from all sorts of materials and used in ceremonies by cultures across the globe. I learned more about them thanks to Second Face: Museum of Cultural Masks. This exhibition was curated by Sarah Segrest for the Virbela Community. I am part of the Virbela Community.

We heard from executives Courtney Chakarun (eXp), Mitra Best (PwC) and Lilac Ilan (AT&T) as they shared their wisdom on diversity, equity and inclusion in the metaverse with Sarah Segrest as part of Women's History Month. We learned from Fujitsu, American Cancer Society, eXp Realty, Wavemakers Network, GAIA LINK, iLRN and other Virbela partners as they shared how they create immersive, award-winning experiences in virtual worlds. We discussed the future of work in the metaverse with Alex Howland (Virbela), Philip Rosedale (Second Life / High Fidelity), Kristie Grinnell (DXC) and Charlie Fink (Forbes). We expanded our sense of art by debuting a show of work from Trish Classe Gianakis in the new gallery space. We got our digital groove on with the help of DJ Jeremy Sole.
