Built in 1929 and inspired by the Washington Monument, the Foshay Tower is a time capsule from a more flamboyant era. Once the tallest building in Minneapolis, its rich limestone façade and lavish lobby echo a time when architecture was all about grandeur and ambition. It now houses a hotel, but its original vision still stands tall. Grab this Architecture Aficionado POAP for checking off a Deco darling in the 612 POAP Challenge. Towering with neo-Gothic flair, the Wells Fargo Center is what happens when a bank wants a cathedral. Designed by César Pelli, its limestone exterior and elegant setbacks nod to a more classical era—even though it was built in the '80s. It’s both fortress and beacon, anchoring downtown with quiet confidence. Add this Architecture Aficionado POAP to your collection in the 612 POAP Challenge and celebrate timeless ambition. TeamSPS Cyberweek 2024
2025-02-18
Cyberweek t-shirts have been a tradition for TeamSPS for more than a decade. In recent years we've also extended the tradition to challenge coins and POAP tokens. The design for these memorabilia is always done after Cyberweek so that we can pull in "the story" of each year. 2024 was the year of scale and resiliency driving super fast performance! This year's incredible execution of the Scale & Resiliency efforts resulted in huge improvements in our systems. Some of our core services operated 6 times faster than they did in previous years. This resulted in an incredibly robust Cyberweek, as well as an efficient one. Last year's 800 servers was this year's fleet of 200 that were not saturated. The design this year reflects this theme of "Getting Fit" harking to a gym theme. The shirt shows a robot, representing the SPS platform, lifting a massive weight. The plates are "100k Parcel" plates, represented by this token and the challenge coins. The robot is not massive but is instead svelte and agile. Lifting with ease this incredible load. All designs by the incredible Meghan McDermott.
