In 2023, Rocket Pool node operators actively engaged in prompt smart node updates to qualify for a POAP. These timely upgrades not only facilitated the testing of new software but also motivated node operators to ensure the continuous maintenance of their nodes. Node operators used their POAPs to enter a raffle to crown a champion. [object Object] was victorious and was awarded 5 RPL and his name on the POAP. This POAP was awarded to all raffle participants.

Voting is currently underway for what might be the most significant tokenomics change in Rocket Pool's history. Valdorff has taken the lead in spearheading the protocol change, with active participation and contributions from a diverse group of members in Rocket Pool's #research Discord channel. On July 17, 2023, a significant event took place within the Rocket Pool community as their Discord server was compromised. During this incident, a fraudulent airdrop was shared, leading to the banning of esteemed members from the server. However, in the face of adversity, the resilient Rocket Pool community united on a secondary server to confront and rectify the situation.

This POAP doesn't recognize the original recipients, rather, it recognizes those who held the NFT after the deployment was completed. Rocket Pool has just released version 1.9.6 of the smartnode stack. It is an optional update for all users. It provides support for the new Geth and Nethermind releases with some noteworthy improvements. A POAP is being given to all users who upgrade within 24 hours. Design by ShfRyn.

On May 2, 2023, Rocket Pool surpassed an astonishing 2500 nodes. A tremendous feat worthy of Sparta in its prime and a hard fought battle to get here thanks in no small part to Maverick. Plus, The Honorable Dybsy in a bunny suit in celebration of his HOP-RP ambassadorship.
