DYOR (Do Your Own Research) is a dictum of the crypto scene. The principle is that one should do one's own investigation rather than believing all that is read. The exhibition reveals to visitors what is, for many, a new world: art in the context of blockchain and NFTs. Curated by Nina Roehrs, DYOR focusses on artists, projects and platforms that have had a significant influence on how the crypto art scene has developed and is today. This DYOR ā POAP can be collected when visiting the exhibition in Zürich. Created by Andreas Gysin (aka ertdfgcvb)
This POAP is to the pioneers who met Lucas IRL or virtually during the magical and burgeoning summer'22. Reach me lucas@poap.fr if you have any doubt or nagging problem. This Artwork is inspired by poolside FM project (https://poolsuite.net/) design cues, that radio is waaaaay too good. Some token gated experimentation will come attached to this POAP šā¦time will tell.
This NFT project is part of degree show of MA Innovation Management at Central Saint Martins of UAL. The NFT owners are the participants of future imagination.
The NFT ART DAY ZRH POAP will be issued to all attendees of the first annual NFT and metaverse conference in Switzerland. Created by American artist, Gretchen Andrew, this POAP is based on Andrew's series "Contemporary Art Auction Record (Mint)". Gretchen Andrew manipulates systems of power with art, glitter and code. She is best known for her playful hacks on major art world and political institutions, including Frieze, The Whitney Biennial, Artforum, The Turner Prize, and The Next American President. In these digital performances she reimagines reality with art and desire. Andrew does this by making assemblage āvision boardsā that she programs to become top internet search results. The feminine and trivialized materials of her vision boards purposefully clash with the male-dominated worlds of AI, programming, and political control they also operate within. Andrew trained in London with the artist Billy Childish from 2012-2017. In 2018 the V&A Museum released her book "Search Engine Art". Andrew's work has recently been featured in Fast Company, Flash Art, The Washington Post, Fortune Magazine, Monopol, Wirtschaftswoche, The Los Angeles Times, and The Financial Times.
