Danny Ryan is best known as the key researcher and facilitator for the transition in Ethereum from Proof of Work (PoW) to Proof of Stake (PoS), often regarded as a modern engineering marvel. The transition to Proof of Stake reduced the energy footprint of Ethereum by more than 99%, it brought increased efficiency, increased security, increased scalability, and greater decentralization to Ethereum. Danny is also regarded as a central figure in developing the core ethos and vision of Ethereum as a chain committed to long term sustainability and decentralization. Danny's leadership and commitment to making Ethereum sustainable have been vital to the success of the Ethereum beacon chain.
