On July 17, 2023, a significant event took place within the Rocket Pool community as their Discord server was compromised. During this incident, a fraudulent airdrop was shared, leading to the banning of esteemed members from the server. However, in the face of adversity, the resilient Rocket Pool community united on a secondary server to confront and rectify the situation.

For the month of February 2023, jcrtp.eth (Joe) has been burning the proverbial midnight oil and working some very long hours to ship Atlas and v1.9 on time. The Rocket Pool community took the time to thank Joe for his amazing work and thank his wife for supporting him during that time. On February 23, 2023, Stader unveiled its white paper on ETHX, a promising staking alternative to Rocket Pool that promises to offer LEB4s. The announcement sparked a lively discussion on the Rocket Pool community Discord, with some members debating whether the platform's forked code gives it a competitive edge in the rapidly-evolving staking landscape. On 12 January 2023, during the "LSD narrative" hype, Coinbase Ventures was proposed as a new oDAO member. Coinbase staff interacted with the Rocket Pool community on Twitter and even ventured into Discord where they knew that #trading was the place to be. Surely it was no COINcidence that RPL hit market cap rank #69 on CoinGecko at the same time!
