As Rocket Pool launches to a new beginning with RP v2, the community takes a trip down memory lane. After many years of progress and a lengthy approval process, Spot Ethereum Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) opened for trading on July 23, 2024. The SEC approved eight ETFs, including the Grayscale Ethereum Mini Trust (ETH), Franklin Ethereum ETF (EZET), VanEck Ethereum ETF (ETHV), Bitwise Ethereum ETF (ETHW), 21Shares Core Ethereum ETF (CETH), Fidelity Ethereum Fund (FETH), BlackRock's (BLK) iShares Ethereum Trust (ETHA) and the Invesco Galaxy Ethereum ETF (QETH). Funds raised from this POAP will go to Aestus. The Aestus MEV-Boost Relay is a neutral, non-censoring relay, which emerged from conversations between members of the EthFinance and EthStaker communities who see the need to develop credibly neutral architecture for the Ethereum staking ecosystem. The Rocket Pool Houston release delivered Protocol DAO on-chain voting. Shortly, the Protocol DAO will be able to vote on Snapshot for meta governance and vote on-chain to make protocol changes. Before Rocket Pool can enable Protocol DAO voting, node operators need to initialize their voting power in the new system and update their signaling address that is used to vote on Snapshot. Node operators that initialized their voting power by July 15 received a POAP.

On January 10, 2024, the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), led by Gary Gensler, granted approval for spot Bitcoin ETF applications from multiple providers. The Ethereum community applauds Bitcoin's adoption and success, and we joyfully join in the celebration with you. The POAP design, credited to @shf_ryn, is a symbol of this milestone. All proceeds generated from the distribution of this POAP will be directed to Brink, supporting the continual development of Bitcoin.

As the holiday season swept over the Rocket Pool community on Discord, virtual festivities ignited a sense of camaraderie among its members. The sound of cheerful messages and rocket emojis echoed through the digital space, creating a warm and vibrant atmosphere. Following a fruitful year of protocol development, which included the implementation of LEB8s, a remarkable 4x growth in rETH, and the launch of a new website, the community eagerly anticipated the unfolding excitement of the upcoming 2024 roadmap. The much-anticipated Houston and Saturn upgrades stood out as key milestones, promising to further elevate Rocket Pool's capabilities and solidify its position in the evolving landscape of decentralized Ethereum staking. This POAP was awarded to the Discord members that joined in on the festivities.

On Dec 1st, 2023, Waq hosted his 300th episode of Rocket Fuel - his daily news show about the Rocket Pool community and protocol. In celebration, Waq donated $3000 to the RPL Benefactor, a member of the Rocket Pool community known for distributing RPL to community members. Waq donated the money with the caveat that the whole community must rally to reach $10,000 in total donations. Once that amount was reached, the RPL Benefactor would distribute the RPL to members of the community. However, if that amount was not reached by Dec 1st, the RPL/eth/whatever would be sent back to donors. This POAP was part of the fundraising drive to reach the $10,000 target. This POAP was sold using POAP checkout with the aim of reaching $10,000. The people who bought the POAP donated $100 (the cost of the POAP) to the RPL Benefactor for them to distribute to the RP community. In donating their money, they became the RPL Benefactor This POAP was created by Shfryn, and it was distributed by Waq through POAP checkout.
