We kicked off in 2018 as a True North grassroots side initiative, going live in 2020. Created by over 40 students and programming enthusiasts with the help of EY Croatia. Today, we have 13,000 registered users from 89 countries, in 293 cities. AWS car racing event @Bayer to learn and connect artificial intelligence enthusiasts. On June 21, 2023, Bayer will participate in an AWS-organized DeepRacer event. In 4 hours, teams will program small cars using machine learning algorithms to race in tracks and compete to win. From their website, it is a “cloud-based 3D racing simulator, fully autonomous 1/18th scale race car driven by reinforcement learning”. A fun way and excellent opportunity to get hands-on experience in machine learning. The main events will run in Berlin, São Paulo, and St. Louis, and many colleagues will participate remotely in the race from other cities not only in Germany, but also in Poland, Spain, and other countries. You can support the event with logistics or learn some machine learning and be a participant, or just be there to meet other AI / data scientists from other departments, since many colleagues from Marketing, R&D, IT, Product Supply, Controlling, Facility Management, and Site Security, are co-organizing or participating in this. You experienced a typical working day in the NNOC Around 300 colleagues from the areas of Global Marketing, Region EMEA, Medical Affairs, Procurement Marketing and their business partners are now working in the newly designed offices on the 7th floor of S101/102. By the end of January, more colleagues from the R&D and Oncology departments will move into the Next Normal Office Concept (NNOC) office space on the 5th floor of the main building. The NNOC pilot project includes around 800 pilot participants. In addition to the NNOC pilot project in Berlin, there are other NNOC pilot projects in Leverkusen, Monheim, Barcelona, Budapest and Basel, among others. Rund 300 Kolleg*innen aus den Bereichen Global Marketing, Region EMEA, Medical Affairs, Procurement Marketing und deren Business Partners arbeiten inzwischen in den neugestalteten Büros in der 7. Etage des S101/102. Bis Ende Januar ziehen weitere Kolleg*innen aus den Bereichen R&D und Onkologie in die Next Normal Office Concept (NNOC)-Bürofläche im 5. Etage des Hauptgebäudes.
