On April 18th, 2023, Bayer Pharma celebrated it's first online Earth Day event. Throughout the day our management shared in plenary sessions what sustainability is all about at Bayer. An external speaker also gave us some outside perspective. In various parallel sessions colleagues shared what sustainability projects they are working on and how these are contributing to reaching our ecological goals like being carbon neutral by 2030 as well as our social goals like providing access to contraception for 100 million women in low- and middle income countries around the world. On the Earth Week platform additional resources, video and posters provided input, motivation and inspiration for all colleagues. Everyone could also get engaged through quizzes, a photo booth and a sustainability committment wall and by joining the CO2 Hero App challenge and of course getting their own Earth Week POAP. 

Nikola Milosevic is a senior computational scientist at Bayer Pharma R&D, Data Sciences and AI, Data Assets and Insights Solutions team. He is passionate about natural language processing, and therefore a creator of Linguist platform, project owner of NLP@Scale project and involved in HubbleSearch project. He also works on relationship extraction from text for knowledge graphs, and large language models (e.g. Fact Finder). Nikola has a PhD from the University of Manchester (CASE project with AstraZeneca), and previous degrees from University of Belgrade. He has experience with few SAAS startups and smaller companies before joining Bayer in January 2020
