It’s been a turbulent week for crypto, with RPL and other altcoins continuing to struggle as the token price hovers near $5. While the market remains uncertain, Rocket Pool has exciting upgrades on the way, such as Saturn on the horizon. Until then, the price action will be a bumpy ride. This POAP commemorates the mergening of /r/ethfinance and /r/ethereum. Now the hallowed Ethfinance Daily is a front-page feature within /r/ethereum! Collectors of this POAP made a donation of ~$5 of ETH to the Protocol Guild. /r/ethereum is now a mullet: Ethereum tech on the front page and price action (and more) in the daily. The Rocket Pool Houston release delivered Protocol DAO on-chain voting. Shortly, the Protocol DAO will be able to vote on Snapshot for meta governance and vote on-chain to make protocol changes. Before Rocket Pool can enable Protocol DAO voting, node operators need to initialize their voting power in the new system and update their signaling address that is used to vote on Snapshot. Node operators that initialized their voting power by July 15 received a POAP.

On the 23rd of May 2024, I spent the day with other ethfinanciers waiting for the US Securities and Exchange Commission to approve the exchange applications for spot ether ETFs. We did it!

The address which minted this POAP participated in the KZG Summoning Ceremony: a publicly coordinated ritual to produce a random output. This output will be used in Proto-Danksharding, aka EIP 4844: an Ethereum scaling mechanism which will hopefully enable lower Layer 2 fees and greater global accessibility. EIP-4844 is expected to go live with the Dencun network upgrade in the near future. As of the time of writing, this ceremony was the largest setup of this kind when considering the number of contributions.
