Head of Disease Biology IT, supporting scientists in Pharma research with IT applications and platforms to manage, mine and leverage their data and come up or validate new therapeutic hypothesis.

I am passionate about harnessing data and cutting-edge technologies to optimize the clinical impact of cancer drugs and diagnostics. Drawing from my personal experiences with cancer, I am devoted to developing analytical systems that integrate clinical, imaging, and biomarker data to provide real-time access to high-quality information. Throughout my career, I have worked closely with clinical teams, advocating for data-driven decision-making and uncovering insights into clinical realities. I strongly believe that by leveraging complex datasets, we can gain a deeper understanding of cancer biology, and subsequently improve our decision-making processes. This adaptable approach empowers us to address fundamental questions, such as which targets to pursue, which technologies to invest in, which drugs to prioritize, and ultimately, which therapies are best suited for individual patients.

As the newest member of the Applied Machine Learning team based in Boston Sara is excited to meet with you and brainstorm to define projects and form collaborations. She is a Bioinformatics and Computational Medicine researcher, expert in integration, analysis, visualization, and interpretation of (pre)clinical and high-throughput data. Her work involves developing algorithms to apply machine learning, heterogeneous data integration, and, 'omic' data and sizeable networks analysis to study complex genetic diseases (e.g., cancer and autoimmune disease), therapeutics response prediction, and computational functional genomics. Sara has over fifteen years of experience working and presenting in highly multidisciplinary teams of MDs, computational scientists, and biologists., and, writing articles and grant applications.
