Green Tech made in Germany: Global challenges as an opportunity - How can the transformation toward sustainability be achieved?

The transformation to sustainability is rapidly becoming a central issue - in politics, business, and society. Digitization can be the main enabler for ""creating"" this transformation, which is crucial for all of us. A new industry branch is emerging from the symbiosis of these two topics: GREEN TECH. The companies active in this branch aim to conquer the market with the help of digital technologies through sustainable products and services. German companies are at the forefront - but how capable are they of competing on an international level? Are the political framework conditions right? We at MHP are not only shedding light on this in a joint study with Reutlingen University, but also in this panel. The panel will include experts from various fields - We invite you to look forward to a wide range of perspectives on the German green tech industry. Digital Platforms – Can They Mitigate Global Risks Along the Supply Chain and Realize New Potential?

Current global crises are placing enormous demands on industrial companies with their complex, international, just-in-time supply chains – the automotive industry in particular needs to reorient itself. In addition to the relocation of production sites, the leading players are also driving forward reconfigurable, highly digitized supply chains and are increasingly focusing on transforming the entire automotive ecosystem. One of the critical factors for success is a cross-company exchange of production and supply chain data on digital platforms to achieve the most holistic approach possible. The automotive industry is tackling this issue. As part of the Catena-X initiative, it is developing harmonized standards and solutions for the exchange of information throughout the value chain. This will create the right conditions to prepare us for future challenges such as decarbonization and a circular economy. However, the new risks must also be considered for every opportunity – especially in terms of cyber security. So what tips the balance? Risks or opportunities? In this panel discussion, we talk to the top experts in the industry about exactly this. Join us as we discuss the future of the supply chain. Leading the Sustainable Transition – the Keynote Speech for the Big Picture

Dr. Harald Neidhardt, a scientist in geoecology at the University of Tübingen, gives an insight into the work of the Futur/io institute in his keynote speech. His mission is to help organizations and a network of chief sustainability officers to develop their sustainable roadmaps by 2030. Using vivid examples and ideas for a new era of regenerative shaping of the future, he inspires others to replace linear thinking with moonshot thinking. He also calls for a different kind of transformation to achieve decisive changes in organizational development before the end of 2030 – through inspiration, ideas, and innovation. One of Harald Neidhardt’s passions is expressing natural processes as metaphors and conveying a sense of time and the future. One approach is to see metamorphosis as a symbol of change – in contrast to the much too slow (digital) transformation that has been going on at Deutschland AG for more than 30 years.
