The address which minted this POAP participated in the KZG Summoning Ceremony: a publicly coordinated ritual to produce a random output. This output will be used in Proto-Danksharding, aka EIP 4844: an Ethereum scaling mechanism which will hopefully enable lower Layer 2 fees and greater global accessibility. EIP-4844 is expected to go live with the Dencun network upgrade in the near future. As of the time of writing, this ceremony was the largest setup of this kind when considering the number of contributions.

The Ethereum Mainnet merged with the Beacon Chain proof-of-stake network on September 15, 2022. This marks the end of proof-of-work for Ethereum and a full transition to proof-of-stake. This historic upgrade is projected to reduce the Ethereum network's energy consumption by over 99% and sets the stage for future upgrades to further scale the Ethereum network. On Friday, August 12th @ 3:00PM UTC EthStaker core members, Yorick, Remy Roy, and myself with be hosting a Valiidator workshop. This will be a goerli post-merge workshop and provide you with the steps necessary to test setting up your mainnet validator. On top of speed running the steps to configure your validator for mainnet, we'll discuss setting up your dashboard for monitoring your validator, review what pruning is and when and how to do it, in addition to having the Stereum team provide an update on their Update/Upkeep challenge.
