Having met last season in League Two, This will be the first time the two sides clash in League One after the teams' successful promotion campaigns Stockport County, founded in 1883 as Heaton Norris Rovers, nicknamed "The Hatters" due to Stockport’s historical hat-making industry, they’ve endured both highs and lows throughout their journey in English football. Stockport has worn blue and white since 1914, representing the club at their home ground, Edgeley Park, since 1902. They’ve been a constant presence in the Football League, aside from an 11-year hiatus between 2011 and 2022. Their rise back to League One was a testament to their determination. After a period of decline that saw them drop as low as the sixth tier, Stockport’s resurgence culminated in winning the National League in 2021-22. Following a strong League Two campaign last year, where they finished as champions, Stockport is now adapting to life in League One. With the atmosphere at the Broadfield Stadium expected to be electric, it’s time for Crawley fans to get behind their team and push them toward three vital points.
