The announcement sparked a lively discussion on the Rocket Pool community Discord, with some members debating whether the platform's forked code gives it a competitive edge in the rapidly-evolving staking landscape. On February 6, 2023, members of the Rocket Pool community fell victim to a malicious attacker who utilized a griefing exploit. Fortunately, other members escaped unscathed as their nodes were deemed unworthy of targeting. This POAP token was available to those that were not impacted by the exploit. POAP designed by ShfRyn.

On Dec 2nd, a new account joined the Rocket Pool Discord channel, 'rpl-benefactor'. The person offered three steps, 1) message the benefactor with information about what work you have done for Rocket Pool, 2) send your address, and 3) you would get RPL tokens depending on the work you did. Over the next five days, the benefactor distributed over 1000 RPL tokens to over 160 community members. This POAP commemorates the generosity of the Rocket Pool community. The benefactor's wallet was given 1000 RPL by superphiz who received the tokens from Patricio Worthalter. This POAP was created by Sleety and distributed by WaqWaqAttack.

On December 2, 2022, the Coinbase Assets twitter account announced that they had added the Rocket Pool token (RPL) to their roadmap. A linked blog post indicated that RPL along with three other Ethereum ERC20 tokens were planned for listing on Coinbase at some point in the future. This POAP is meant to commemorate The Merge on the Ethereum protocol. We, the fine people of r/ethfinance, have been counting down the days to this historical event. Literally. Everyday u/Moschus11 has been posting a countdown to the estimated merge date and the fellow subredditors have been upvoting, downvoting, correcting, criticising, reviewing, validating his best guess.
