Mike Ross is a painter & muralist working out of 333 Midland Studios in Highland Park. His work embraces chaos and the futility of creating order, through the use of an ever-expanding palette of gradient color and pattern. Music and literature inform his practice, mostly in an abstract way though his work does veer into the literal occasionally. When it comes right down to it, all of his work is ultimately focused on strengthening human connection. He grew up in the lake-lands of Commerce Township, where he was exposed to water and punk rock, moved to New Mexico for a spell, and eventually attended Oakland University, where he earned a degree in Anthropology and Studio Art You can see more of his work at www.mrossart.com.
