Gaming is the biggest entertainment industry on the planet. Humans of all ages and sexes play. Its big business, a sport and as much part of our culture as music, literature, or movies. Gaming is also a driver in the Metaverse. We will give an overview of metaverse-like platforms such as Roblox or Fortenite and metaverse platforms such as The Sandbox, Decentraland and other play-to-earn platforms. We`ll dive head first into virtual worlds and start with the 100 years of Metaverse history. We will give a comprehensive definition of the term, we will explain why the metaverse does not (yet) exist, why it has nothing to do with bulky headsets - and we will show what is already and quite wonderfully possible and where the economies of the future lay. 07. Web3 and Metaverse are somewhat used interchangeable and not clearly defined. In this opening session, we will dissect and define the terms. We will explain what the traits of Web3 are, dive into its history, talk about the building blocks of Web3 and its economic and present some use cases the show the full potential of Web3 technology.
