DAOs or Decentralized Autonomous Organizations have gained traction over the recent years, with the concept being explored as early as Ethereum itself. From a grant giving DAO like Moloch that funds projects making an impact to Ethereum ecosystem, more complex governance mechanisms have been explored by other projects as communities explore ways to decentralize their governance stack. Specific governance roles have also been created such as delegates and subDAOs, opening opportunities for individuals or institutions to play their part in governance for a decentralized future. This month we are having Alexander Popescu, head of marketing at Stablenode.xyz, to share with us their governance advisory work and perspective on the future of DAOs, Governance and the Decentralized Future.

This month, it will be all about the upcoming Merge. The merge of Ethereum's consensus & execution layers and change of consensus mechanism has been planned from the start of the protocol. With the last testnet, Goerli, planned to undergo its Merge in August and mainnet planned for September, we are super close to getting there. We will be conducting a round table to learn important concepts about post-Merge Ethereum as well as a hands-on workshop on running your own node. The meetup will be participatory! Everyone is welcome to share their insights in the round table (please make sure it's based on knowledge not BS) and should bring their laptops if they'd like to try running a node. Local legend (sorry for these hype-ish words ser) Caleb will be leading the workshop.

This is not a drill - we are having our first IRL monthly meetup at Common Ground Bandar Utama after 2.5 years of Zoom calls! We will be hosting a panel session with the three most well known crypto companies in Malaysia: Etherscan, Luno & CoinGecko! It has been a rollercoaster ride in the first half of 2022.
