Epoch Zero is a one-time funding event, where Golem Foundation & Octant will be donating 1 million dollars to public goods projects: Clr.fund, DAO Drops, Drips, Ethereum Cat Herders, ETHStaker, Giveth, Gitcoin, Kernel, Protocol Guild, & Supermodular. To say thank you to donors of public goods projects, we want to distribute this POAP to community members who care about funding public goods. Any recipient of this POAP met superphiz in real live flesh! This POAP was developed by Dr Doofus. (Yes, I know it's weird!) Here is Doofus's description: On the left is the Brain (repository of all knowledge) controlled by the Puppet Master (arbiter of all knowledge). Cthulu Phiz is using his might to "decentralize" the Brain. On the right, the diversified flock of stakers, like baby birds cheeping for food, hunger for the knowledge that has been kept from them and the growth that comes with it, but need a conduit to make it accessible to them. Cthulu Phiz is that conduit. Like the hand of Michelangelo's David, Cthulu Phiz's tentacles are larger on one side, symbolizing his "manis fortis" or strength of hand to carry out his task. Whereas David's strength is backed by God, Phiz's is backed by the staking community (David's right hand is larger, whereas Phiz's left tentacles are larger, but the image looked weird if I flipped sides). Finally, Cthulu Phiz himself represents charity. Not just in his selfless actions of giving to the community, but also in a meta-physical sense. Cthulu's creator, HP Lovecraft, was very talented, but for much of his life was a notorious bigot. By using his iconography in a subversion of his ideals (promoting diversity), we show that Phiz is charitable in his view of people, believing that we can aspire to bring them to our side with kindness and by example rather than with aggression and dismissal. He also has a tentacle penis.
