Yearly Thing 2025
2026-01-23
Thank you for being part of the very first Yearly Thing 2025 — a curated collection of 324 links from Weekly Thing issues 306-336, organized into ten themed chapters covering the year's most compelling ideas in technology, culture, and digital life. The Yearly Thing is an artifact: a way to hold a year of the internet in your hands while the links themselves inevitably rot. This POAP is its digital twin — proof that you were here, that you collected the 2025 edition, and that you're part of the Weekly Thing community. One physical artifact. One digital collectible. Both yours to keep.
This POAP is a small gift to friends and family in recognition of my 54th Birthday. This token is directly distributed via claim code to each recipient. The design was created with AI and features a Formula 1 inspired race scene. This year I re-discovered F1 after nearly two decades of not paying much attention. Tyler and I have both enjoyed watching the races! 🏁 Related POAPs: - 50th Birthday → https://poap.gallery/event/20896 - 51st Birthday → https://poap.gallery/event/95194 - 52nd Birthday → https://poap.gallery/event/166479 - 53rd Birthday → https://poap.gallery/drops/183305
Weekly Thing — Reddit Revival
2025-12-02
This POAP celebrates the Reddit Revival of r/WeeklyThing, the subreddit companion to the Weekly Thing newsletter. It is awarded to readers who showed up, commented, and helped restart the conversation during the relaunch of the community on Reddit in December, 2025. By adding your voice to the thread of links, ideas, and curiosities, you were part of the r/WeeklyThing revival! Thanks for being there, commenting, and helping shape what this space can become next.
Farewell Ponder
2025-11-18
This token commemorates our time together on Ponder — a “quiet place for your group to talk” where we connected, reflected, and held meaningful conversations away from the noise. As of December 2025, Ponder will be shutting down. The team shared that this decision was made thoughtfully, so the company could focus on other products and next steps. Thank you for being part of this community — for the ideas, the exchanges, and the friendships. This POAP marks that chapter closing, and honours the spirit of open, thoughtful discussion that Ponder embodied.
This token was distributed directly via printed claim sheets to participants in the 2025 Things 4 Good Candle Fundraiser hosted by the Thingelstad family. This annual give back event raised donations for causes that we want to support by selling our handmade wooden wick candles. This year's scents included True North, Winter Wonderland, Charcoal Rose, Old Fashioned, Apple of My Eye, Tea Time, Oh My Darling, Pumpkin Pie, and Just Crackle (unscented). This year we also debuted the 24oz XL Candles in Winter Wonderland and True North, as well as the T4G Labs and Rekindled collections. Finally, this was also the first year that we offered candle lids. Many new things! We provide the materials and make the candles so that ALL proceeds from the fundraiser go to four different non-profits that we each pick. This year we supported: - Animal Welfare Institute → https://awionline.org/ - Border Angels → https://www.borderangels.org - The Food Group → https://www.thefoodgroupmn.org - Sandy Hook Promise → https://www.sandyhookpromise.org
