HNFT Museum - Historical NFT Series #1 - Punycodes Punycodes - May 10, 2011 [Namecoin] @Punycodes2011 HNFT Museum is a proud collaborator and partner with Punycodes and interviewing the first series on 23/01/2023 with Punycodes to explore and capture their history and story within the NFT historical timeline. Punycodes ("Punys") are considered by many to be the first art NFTs. They are a community curated collection of texts, symbols, emojis, and ASCII art minted as on-chain domain names on the Namecoin blockchain starting in 2011. Punycodes illustrate the innate human desire to leverage blockchain technologies to create and own pieces of art. All Punycodes are represented by their distinguishing "xn--" prefix. They employ special encoding to convert Unicode characters to ASCII, a subset style representation that requires a decoder to see the contained art. There is also a separate Punycodes collection found on the Emercoin blockchain (a fork of Namecoin blockchain) with a similar technical and artistic pattern of Namecoin Punycodes. The Twitter rediscovery happened in mid January 2022 and these assets were quickly claimed in a fair manner. [6] This has ensured a healthy holder distribution for Punycodes and resulted in a significant number of collectors holding them. Punycodes DAO expresses its respect for artists and creators, and wants to recognize original Punycodes creators for the true pioneers they are.
Historical NFT Museum Launch 2023
2023-01-20
Historical NFT Museum Launch 2023 At Crypto Skulls DAO, we are collaborating with over 20+ different historical nft projects to create a movement that people want to get behind. We believe that in order to create the future, we must understand our past. The Historical NFT Museum serves as a web3 virtual gallery where the historical communities can collaborate and come together, sharing in a common passion for historical NFTs. Through seasonal exhibits and events, participants can learn about early (2011-2019) NFT projects while interacting with each other.
On August 22, 2021, Adam McBride, an "NFT Archaeologist" as he's best described, reached out to Ken Erwin, PixelMap founder, asking if he had created PixelMap. That was the beginning of the "rediscovery", leading to a massive amount of attention in a few hours, no sleep for 50+ hours, an ERC-721 wrapper to make PixelMap easier to use, and a revival of the website. The "Genesis Collection" is for the first owners of PixelMap tiles and brave apes who have participated in the PixelMap Rediscovery.
